On July 7, 1937, the sound of gunfire at Lugou Bridge pierced through Anning, marking the beginning of the full-scale War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression. The mountains and rivers were in peril, the people were displaced, and countless martyrs built the Great Wall to defend the country with their flesh and blood. Although the smoke of war has long dissipated, history must not be forgotten, and the suffering should always be remembered. Looking back today, it is not about continuing the hatred but learning from history.
