Today is World Oceans Day. This vast expanse of blue covers 71% of the Earth's surface and also protects our breath and climate. One out of every three oxygen molecules comes from the ocean. Every ebb and flow of the tide regulates the global temperature. However, every minute, entire truckloads of plastic waste are pouring into this blue expanse. Protecting the ocean doesn't require earth-shattering efforts. Using one less plastic bag, choosing sustainable seafood, and doing a good job in garbage sorting - every small choice is reducing the pressure humans put on the ocean.
